Location: REMOTE: The University of Manitoba, will be scheduling interviews on behalf of all firms.

Are you a 2L that wants to summer in Vancouver in 2027? Please note that the University of Saskatchewan, Career Development Office, is partnering with the University of Manitoba in the REMOTE OCI Process this year!  This year the University of Manitoba will be scheduling all OCI interviews, including USask candidates.  All OCI Interviews will be held remotely, in PT, where the firms reside. 

These interviews are specifically for 2L law students for upcoming 2027 summer positions. The legal employers participating are from Vancouver.  Interview lengths have been increased from 17 minutes to 20 minutes allowing for 20 interview timeslots for each of the participating firms, should they decide to host a full schedule. 

The interview portion of the day continues to proceed, remotely. 

USask College of Law has posted positions of those firms who will be participating in the Remote OCI process, in CareerLink – College of Law Job Postings, with a deadline of Friday, August 14th, 2026, at 11:59 pm PT.  Additional firms/organizations may also have postings in CareerLink – College of Law, and will be conducting interviews on a day of their choosing.

2027 2L Summer Recruitment Dates & Deadlines

  • Monday, July 6, 2026 - ViLawPortal opens to students
  • Registration Deadline for employers who would like to participate in UofM/USASK OCI’s: By Thursday, July 30th, 2026 by 4:30PM CDT
  • Application Deadline: Friday, August 14, 2026, 11:59 pm PT - ViLawPortal closes to students 
  • Friday, September 11, 2026, at end of business day, 4:30 PM CDT - Deadline for employers for OCI selection - employers must submit their interview lists to USask for processing
  • Tuesday, September 15, 2026 by 4:30PM CDT - Date by which employers will receive their interview schedule
  • Employers to contact students with platform details, firm technical issue contact, and interviewer information, including any subsequent changes.  Wednesday, September 16th – Monday, September 21st, 2026
  • Wednesday, September 23th, 2026 - USask/UManitoba Remote On Campus Interview Date (interviews will be arranged with students by UManitoba) ​- 20 minute interviews - 9:00AM – 5:30PM PT
  • Friday, September 25th, 2026 - OCI Makeup Day
  • Blackout Period: Monday, September 28, 2026 – Sunday, October 18, 2026
  • Intention to Call E-mails: Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at 8:00am PT – Thursday, October 1, 2026 at 8:00pm PT
  • Interview Call Day: Friday, October 2, 2026 at 8:00am PT
  • In-Firm Interview Week: Monday, October 19, 2026 – Wednesday, October 21, 2026
  • Job Offer Call Day: Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at 5:00pm PT (offers open until Thursday, October 22, 2026 at 5:00pm PT)

*Expect to be in Vancouver in person for the four days (which includes the offer date).  After each interview, (where you like the firm), you should be asking for a further opportunity to meet team members. This means that the firm may ask you back for lunch, dinner, coffee or a second interview.  The most IMPORTANT time not to be on a flight is Thursday morning when you will be called by the firms if you are receiving an offer.
