The politics of separation in Saskatchewan and Alberta is on the rise. Eric Adams will explore the constitutional law that governs the possibility of a province leaving Canada and the constitutional politics aiming to keep Canada intact.

About the speaker: 

Eric M. Adams, is a Professor of Law at the University of Alberta, Faculty of Law. He publishes widely on Canadian constitutional law, theory, and history, as well as human rights and legal educationHe has won multiple awards for his teaching and research, including the Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee Medal. A frequent media commentator, his editorials appear in newspapers across the country. His co-authored book, Challenging Exile: Japanese Canadians and the Wartime Constitution, is set to appear this fall.
