Presented by Rachel Loewen Walker, Ariel F. Sallows Chair in Human Rights at the College of Law (USask), this lecture will conduct a close reading of both the concept and the operations of misogyny. Loewen Walker will demonstrate that an old and largely misunderstood concept such as misogyny can act as a tipping point for renewed engagement with gender-based violence in contemporary legal, social, and political environments.
