Wunusweh Lecture in Aboriginal Law

Guest Speakers

Jeffery Hewitt, professor at the University of Windsor, will present the 2019 Wunusweh Lecture in Aboriginal Law.

Select Narratives and Visuals of Indigenous Art: Exploring Connections in Law

This lecture will consider connections between Indigenous art and law, including the performance and power of treaty-making through material culture. In a time when it seems public discussion and critique are received as personal attack and where the polarization of perspectives feels like a daily practice, this lecture will also propose how art and material culture may offer a way through the noise by re-centering art at the forefront.
