A Conversation with Supreme Court Justice Rosalie Abella
The MLT Lecture Theatre was filled to capacity on March 2 as students, staff, faculty and friends of the College of Law congregated to hear the Honourable Justice Rosalie Silberman Abella speak about her journey to Canada’s highest court.
During a candid conversation with Professor Brent Cotter, Justice Abella discussed her reasons for wanting to become a lawyer and her key moments along her journey to the Supreme Court. She also shared some advice for current law students in the room, encouraging them to “follow your own path” and to “do what works best for you.”
The event wrapped the 2015-16 edition of the McKercher LLP Lecture Series at the College of Law. Special thanks to Justice Abella, to ProBono Students Canada for helping to organize Justice Abella’s visit, to McKercher LLP for their sponsorship, and to everyone who attended.
