Brent Cotter appointed chair of Saskatchewan Public Complaints Commission
Professor and former dean of the College of Law, Brent Cotter, QC, has been appointed as the chair of the Saskatchewan Public Complaints Commission effective Oct. 1, 2014.
“It is an honour to have been appointed. The Commission plays an important role in providing public oversight of policing in Saskatchewan and at the same time helping to maintain the public’s confidence in our policing services,” Cotter said in a written statement.
The Public Complaints Commission is responsible for reviewing allegations of police misconduct, providing reports of its findings to the Chief of Police and making general recommendations about the policies and services of Saskatchewan’s police forces.
